RWA

RWA (Real World Assets) refers to the tokenization of tangible assets—such as real estate, private credit, and government bonds—on the blockchain. By bringing traditional financial instruments on-chain, RWA protocols like Ondo and Centrifuge provide DeFi users with stable, real-yield opportunities. In 2026, the RWA sector is a multi-trillion-dollar bridge between TradFi and DeFi, enabling fractional ownership and global liquidity for previously illiquid assets. Follow this tag for insights into on-chain credit markets, regulatory compliance, and asset-backed security innovations.

‘Once funds are spent…’ – Inside El Salvador’s ‘quantum-proof’ Bitcoin plan

‘Once funds are spent…’ – Inside El Salvador’s ‘quantum-proof’ Bitcoin plan

The post ‘Once funds are spent…’ – Inside El Salvador’s ‘quantum-proof’ Bitcoin plan appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Takeaways Amid Bitcoin’s downturn, El Salvador split 6,283 BTC across 14 wallets to reduce quantum risk. The nation advances new banking laws to expand regulated crypto services. El Salvador, the first nation to make Bitcoin [BTC] a legal tender, took a key step to strengthen custody of its holdings On the 29th of August, the country’s National Bitcoin Office announced that its nearly 6,300 BTC reserve had been split across 14 addresses, each capped at 500 BTC. El Salvador’s new Bitcoin strategy Under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, the Bitcoin Office has steadily expanded the nation’s reserve, purchasing one BTC daily. The stash now totals 6,283 BTC, valued at over $682 million at press time. Source: The Bitcoin Office/X However, on-chain data shows that the holdings have been redistributed across 14 separate addresses, with no individual address holding more than 500 BTC. Source: mononaut/X Officials stressed that the redistribution follows established best practices and is intended to protect against evolving threats, including future advances in quantum computing Why quantum matters One particular concern is quantum computing, which, in theory, could undermine the public-private key cryptography that secures Bitcoin. This cryptography also underpins many everyday systems, including banking, email, and communications, making the precautionary measure a forward-looking step in protecting the country’s digital assets. They noted, “When a Bitcoin transaction is signed and broadcast, the public key becomes visible on the blockchain, potentially exposing the address to quantum attacks that could discover private keys and redirect funds before the transaction confirms.” Unused addresses, by contrast, remain protected because their public keys never appear on the blockchain. On that note, they said, “Once funds are spent from an address, its public keys are revealed and vulnerable. By splitting funds into smaller amounts, the impact of a potential quantum attack is…

Putin gets his moment as Modi and Xi finally break the ice

Putin gets his moment as Modi and Xi finally break the ice

The post Putin gets his moment as Modi and Xi finally break the ice appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Vladimir Putin got exactly what he’s been working toward when Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping sat down on Sunday in Tianjin, China, for a rare one-on-one meeting during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. This is the first time in seven years that Modi has been to China, and the first time since their 2020 border clash that both leaders have publicly agreed to fix their damaged ties. They both said India and China are not rivals but “development partners,” and the goal now is to reduce tensions and improve trade. The quote came straight from a video posted on Modi’s official X account. The discussion happened as global tariffs took center stage again. Just days before the summit, Donald Trump, now back in the White House, imposed a 50% tariff on Indian goods. Trump’s move came in response to India’s continued oil imports from Russia. The timing forced Modi’s hand: instead of leaning West, he leaned East, sitting with Xi to cool things off. The meeting was part of a two-day gathering where leaders from Iran, Pakistan, and four Central Asian countries joined Putin in pushing what’s being called a Global South alternative to the U.S.-led world order. According to CNBC, this wasn’t a side event—it was the main event, and Putin had a front row seat. Modi tells Xi he wants better trade, stable borders Modi used the sit-down to press Xi on India’s lopsided trade deficit with China, which hit a record $99.2 billion this year. That figure has been a sore spot for Indian officials for years, and the prime minister made it clear he wants something done. But trade wasn’t the only topic. Modi said India is “committed to progressing our relations based on mutual respect, trust and sensitivities,” and that he believes the current…

Bitcoin Miner Escapes $100M Debt Trap

Bitcoin Miner Escapes $100M Debt Trap

The post Bitcoin Miner Escapes $100M Debt Trap appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Fintech After years of legal wrangling, IREN Limited has finally put an end to its costly standoff with NYDIG. The Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin miner will pay $20 million to settle defaulted loans once tied to tens of thousands of Antminer rigs — a fraction of the original $107.8 million owed. The resolution, which covers litigation in both Canada and Australia, effectively clears the company of ongoing claims. Executives framed the deal as a full stop to a chapter that began in 2021, when two subsidiaries borrowed heavily to expand mining operations but defaulted the following year as Bitcoin prices crashed and fixed hosting costs became unprofitable. From Struggle to Strength The timing of the settlement is striking. IREN just delivered the strongest results in its history, reporting $187.3 million in quarterly revenue and a record $501 million for the year. Net income jumped to $176.9 million, a reversal from the struggles seen during the downturn. Shares surged as investors welcomed the combination of rising profits and a clean legal slate. Unlike peers forced into bankruptcy or restructuring, IREN weathered the storm intact. The removal of the NYDIG overhang could make it one of the healthier balance sheets among public Bitcoin miners. Doubling Down on AI But the company isn’t betting on Bitcoin alone. IREN has rapidly positioned itself as a serious player in AI infrastructure, ordering more than 2,400 new Nvidia GPUs in a $168 million expansion plan. Once deployed, its fleet will top 10,900 high-performance chips, ranging from H100s to the new GB300s. Construction is already underway at its Prince George campus in British Columbia, where a state-of-the-art liquid-cooled facility will host thousands of GPUs. The $96 million purchase of GB300 systems is being financed through a two-year lease, while other models were bought outright with company cash. The information…
