Citibank has built a strong reputation with three standout miles credit card options. The PremierMiles is the accessible everyday miles card; the Prestige is the premium travel card for high earners; the Rewards is the lifestyle accelerator built for shoppers. This guide maps all three, so you can find the right fit and dig into the details from there.
That said, not everyone values miles and lounge access. We’ll be adding YouTrip, a multi-currency travel card, as an alternative for competitive exchange rates and zero FX fees, if stretching your travel dollar is more important than premium perks.

The Citi PremierMiles Card is the most straightforward miles card in the Citi lineup: consistent earn rates, no miles expiry, a useful travel insurance benefit when the full fare is charged to the card, and an annual fee that’s often waived in year one.
The 2.2 mpd overseas rate is solid for a card at this price point, and the uncapped 10 mpd on Agoda, Expedia, and Kaligo makes it particularly strong for travellers who book through those platforms.
It’s not a card for luxury perks (2 lounge visits a year is limited), but as a reliable, low-maintenance miles accumulator, it remains one of the most popular options in Singapore.

The Citi Prestige Card is Citibank Singapore’s flagship publicly available travel card, and it’s had a difficult few years. The July 2025 changes removed unlimited lounge access (now capped at 12 visits per year, shared with guests) and raised the annual fee to S$651.82.
Its signature benefit remains the 4th night free on hotel stays (unlimited, booked via concierge) — still one of the most valuable perks of any Singapore credit card for regular hotel bookers. The 32,000 renewal miles on annual fee payment also help offset the cost for committed cardholders.
But with reduced benefits and a 3.25% FX fee, the case for the Prestige is narrower than it once was, and it rewards active, high-spending users far more than occasional ones.
Travel insurance note: Citi’s HLAS-underwritten travel insurance was discontinued effective 1 March 2025. Mastercard World Elite coverage (underwritten by AIG) remains in place. Cardholders should confirm their current coverage and consider supplementary travel insurance.
Lounge visits note: The 12 annual visits are shared between the primary cardholder and any guests. Solo travellers get 12 trips; those who always bring a companion effectively get 6.

The Citi Rewards Card is not a travel card — it’s a lifestyle and online shopping card that happens to convert well to miles. The 4 mpd earn rate on department stores and online shopping (bags, clothes, shoes, accessories) is among the highest accelerated rates in Singapore, making it a strong complement to a travel miles card.
The catch: the 9,000 monthly bonus points cap limits the value to roughly S$1,000 in eligible spend per month, after which earn drops to 0.4 mpd. Hotels booked directly and airline tickets earn only base rate, not 10X. And unlike PremierMiles, ThankYou Points expire after five years — so these aren’t points you want to accumulate passively for years without a redemption plan.

While Citi’s credit cards are great for miles collectors, they come with annual fees, exclusions, and foreign transaction fees that can eat into your savings. That’s where YouTrip stands out.
Why YouTrip is the smarter alternative:
Best for: Travellers who value cash savings and flexibility more than miles or luxury perks. Many frequent flyers even carry both: a Citi card for miles, and YouTrip for everyday overseas spend.

PremierMiles (S$196.20/year) is an accessible everyday miles card with a 2.2 mpd overseas earn rate, no miles expiry, and a first-year fee often waived.
Prestige (S$651.82/year) is the premium card for high earners, with 12 Priority Pass lounge visits, unlimited 4th night free hotel stays, and concierge services — but a S$120,000 income requirement.
Online shopping and department store spending: 4 mpd (10X ThankYou Points) on eligible categories including bags, clothes, shoes, and accessories. Best used as a complement to PremierMiles, not as a standalone travel card.
Note the 9,000 monthly bonus points cap and 5-year points expiry.
No. Citi Miles on the PremierMiles Card never expire as long as your card account is active. ThankYou Points on the Rewards Card expire after 5 years from the card approval date. ThankYou Points on the Prestige Card never expire.
S$120,000 p.a. for all applicants (Singaporeans, PRs, and foreigners). Exception: Citigold customers may be eligible with S$30,000 p.a.

Yes. All three Citi cards charge 3.25% on non-SGD purchases.
Only if you’ll maximise the 4th night free hotel benefit and 12 lounge visits. The July 2025 benefit cuts (unlimited lounge access removed, annual fee hiked to S$651.82) have made the card less broadly compelling.
For frequent hotel bookers who use the concierge to book qualifying stays, the Prestige still delivers strong value. For everyone else, PremierMiles offers better value at a fraction of the cost.
Yes — and many frequent travellers do. Use your Citi card for local spend and bonus categories where earn rates are highest, and use YouTrip for all overseas day-to-day transactions to avoid the 3.25% FX fee.
This hybrid approach maximises miles earning while minimising the cost of overseas spending.
Find a card that suits your needs best — whether you’re looking for the best rates in town or one with zero fees.
