Vitalik: "Crypto Twitter" can continue to be a fixed industry term.

On February 8th, PANews reported that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on the X platform that he will accept the renaming of Twitter and will refer to Twitter as "X" in the future. He also suggested that "Tweet" could become a generalized term, referring to all social media messages centered on short text content and offering a similar user experience to X, similar to the linguistic evolution of "Kleenex" as a general term for tissues. Vitalik cited examples such as platforms like Farcaster, Lens, and Truth Social, noting that previously posted content could still be called "Tweet." Furthermore, he believes "Crypto Twitter" can still be retained as a fixed term, jokingly suggesting it could be called "CryptoX." He added that the above content has been simultaneously published to multiple platforms including X, Farcaster, and Lens via Firefly.
